Missouri is home to over 400 natives bees, all of which are pollinators. We likely interact with more native bees in our backyard gardens than honeybees.

The best support we can provide is to

  • limit or completely eliminate pesticide and herbicide use (including glyphosate)
  • plant more native plant species for bees to forage
  • provide or preserve their natural habitat, which for native bees include wood cavity nests and underground nests, both in the wild and in our yards!
